Hello and welcome home,

Can you believe it’s September already? I feel like I say this every year, but this shift in the seasons feels more … urgent this year. Maybe it’s just Virgo season seeping into my brain, but the great Second Half of the Year Lock-In has commenced. There’s no time like the present to get your shite together, right?

In the vein of trying new things this fall, I’m going to be sharing condensed versions of the month ahead astrology forecast, but will be sharing Choose Your Message tarotscopes for the major transits instead. As much as I love writing out the astro forecasts, they are a lot of work! and I don’t want to burn out too quickly. So please accept more Instagram / blog posts as my compromise, lol.

Thank you for reading this month’s tarotscope and for your continued support. If your reading resonates with you, please like this post or let me know down in the comments.

If you’d like to book a private reading, please check out the Consultations page.

With love,

virgo: queen of wands and water lily: enlightenment

This month’s Queen of Wands represents you getting out of the house, so to speak, and you fully expressing yourself. Rightfully so, since it is your season. What better time of year to indulge in your ego than Virgo season?

The Queen of Wands is a person who follows their pleasure. She is sensual and bright, takes up space and isn’t afraid to do so. Virgo, again, what better time of year to take up space than in your own season? In the OG tarot art, the Queen is manspreading on her throne, fully relaxed and open to receiving all the good that life has to offer her. How very sexy of you, Virgo.

Listen, when you are honest with yourself and the world around you (aka, being a bitch sometimes, as the Queen of Wands can be), you gain more confidence. You are responding and participating in situations that strengthen your ego, gaining confidence. You are able to make clearer, more engaged decisions, you are able to feel more in tune with your body. This is especially important for Virgo, as your zodiac’s signature is one of service to others. Being in service to others requires an understanding of the self and also, different forms of protection.

Protection, for the Queen, is shown through her black cat. In historical and religious contexts, black cats were spiritual protection for witches. Witches were powerful, sensual women on the fringes of society, capable of creating their own luck. While the concept of protection is still relevant here, it’s less about focusing on the shadows of life and more attuned to the joy of life. When you love your life, are invested in your life, the world seems to protect you from harmful experiences (or you are able better to handle the harm because you are working from a framework of peace). Virgo, this month, be like a sunflower and let the light be your guide.

Your Plant Magic! Oracle, Water Lily, says, “Go below the surface to gain higher enlightenment.” Virgo, there is no reason to hide from the light of who you are any longer. Illuminate the spirit, lighten your load, relax into your highest being.

libra: king of swords and amaryllis (pride)

This month’s King of Swords appears to support you in your highest truths. Even if maintaining those truths leaves you feeling a little lonely. You always have yourself, Libra.

The King of Swords is the master of the Swords suit. This is a personality who isn’t afraid to use their Sword, their words, even though it may hurt. Action, the King says, does speak louder than words. The King doesn’t get caught up in the couldawouldashoulda of life, they engage in fortifying thoughts and act on them, logically. Remember that Kings are leaders in tarot, and you are a leader in creating connections that benefit everyone.

Libra is the masculine side of Venus, the side of Venus that goes after what they want, can and will charm in order to achieve a greater goal (usually something beautiful and equitable for everyone). The King of Swords can see the big picture, they’re distant from the kingdom in order to watch over it; they don’t get discouraged by clouds in the skyline, because they know a few secrets, a little confusion, never hurt anyone. Clouds move out of the way eventually, right? And in seeing the big picture, the King is able to make more rational, clearheaded decisions that benefit everyone. So trust in your perspective, Libra. It’s the only one you’ve got.

Your Plant Magic! Oracle, Amaryllis, says, “Be proud of what you’ve already accomplished by being true to yourself.” Libra, you are the master of your mind and your truth. No one else can sing your song or understand the choices you make, but you. So take action and let your environment follow suit. Remain objective and honest in your relationship assessments; take pride in the work you’ve undertaken to become King of your domain.

scorpio: queen of wands and chamomile (relaxation)

In the Magic Pantry tarot deck, the Queen of Wands is represented by salt. Salt of the earth, is what comes to mind with this Queen. Scorpio, this September, how can you get back down to earth?

Salt. A mineral that we don’t think much of, in modern times, but we know when a meal is missing it. We can feel its absence, even when there are many other spices or flavors going on in a dish. We know when our bodies are needing electrolytes; we feel sluggish and tired. Salt is an essential part of our community, our body, our cultures, our lives. Scorpio, whether you like it or not, you are like salt. Understated, down to earth, and your absence is always palpable. It may be easy to continue “being absent”, to do your own thing and move in silence, but the Queen of Wands invites you to step out of your comfort zone and be a part of the bigger picture.

The Queen of Wands sits between warm desert sand and a cool, gray landscape. This represents the Queen of Wands’ ability to bring various environments, perspectives, community members together through a shared sense of pleasure. Through widening your perspective, by relinquishing control of your social situations, you can create more intentional and meaningful connections within your community. No man (woman, person, etc.) is an island, Scorpio.

Another word to this dichotomy of contrasting landscapes, being both hot and cool. That’s you, Scorpio. You are simultaneously cool, like water; intense and ardent, like fire (Mars). How can you bring these elements together, acknowledging the strengths in both sides of your being? How can you invite more variety, more flavor, more meaning into yourself and your relationships?

Your Plant Magic! Oracle for this month is Chamomile, who brings a gift of relaxation. The guidebook says, “Allow yourself to be comforted through healthy self-soothing and community care.” Scorpio, it’s not healthy or in your best interest to isolate, you are depriving your community of your leadership and strength. Relax into being cared for, let yourself be healed by the different members of your community.

sagittarius: 9 of pentacles and peace lily: grief

Sagittarius, do you stop to smell the roses? I mean this literally and figuratively. Or do you let yourself jump from situation to situation so you don’t have time to process? Walk with me, here.

The 9 of Pentacles is one of the few cards of rest in the Pentacles suit. The figure is actually enjoying the wealth they’ve accumulated over the course of the Pentacles story. In this pause, stopping to smell the roses, the figure has time to reflect on their journey. They have time to celebrate their accomplishments, honor their independence, and get more in touch with their senses. At the same time, however, there is an underlying sense of loneliness.

The 9 of Pentacles is both the recognition that your investments and achievements can only really be valued by you and the understandable loneliness that comes with getting what you want. But instead of running away from this feeling (because it is just a feeling, after all), the 9 of Pentacles invites you to sit in it for a bit. Not in a depressive way, but in a gentle dose of reality way. How does loneliness, grief, make you feel? Where does it sit in your body? Does this feeling stop you from fully taking in the beauty and peace around you? The 9 of Pentacles asks you to find the balance between feeling lonely and being lonely.

Your Plant Magic! Oracle is Peace Lily, whose message is grief. The guidebook says, “make peace with your grief.” Succinct and true. Sagittarius, being an escapist is not the same as processing your grief. By taking the time to sit in your 9 of Pentacles garden, by being self-sufficient despite and throughout the grief, you will learn that you don’t need to run away, abandon yourself. Everything you need to heal is inside of you.

capricorn: page of cups and lavender (resolution)

The Page of Cups is an ironic card for you serious, Saturnian folks. While Saturn appreciates maturity and sensibility, the Page is an invitation to be a little childish.

Okay, not childish but childlike. The Page of Cups is a beginner when it comes to the matters of the Cups suit; managing emotions, being empathetic (with boundaries), and staying curious. Children do not have the same hardened judgment as us adults, they are able to see opportunities for play, even in the worst of times. Children also don’t have the same filter that we do, as adults. So Capricorn, your challenge here is to let yourself be silly. Unburden yourself of Saturn’s influence for a second and just feel. Speaking of feeling, your sister sign, Cancer, also got the Page of Cups, so check out their tarotscopes for a holistic look into your month ahead.

When you open yourself up to the glass-half-full perspective of the Page of Cups, you begin to see magic in everything. In your morning coffee, the breaks in between meetings, and even in your dreams. You also get to believe in magic, Capricorn, but this belief also means taking the plunge. Notice the Page stands at the water’s edge, on the edge of their comfort zone (especially considering the silly outfit they’re wearing), but who says you need to be comfortable to try something new?

Your Plant Magic! Oracle is Lavender whose message is resolution. The guidebook says, “take an opportunity to decompress and find a moment of peace during your day to day.” Capricorns, you are the pioneers of the phrase, Work hard, play hard. It can be so easy to focus on the work of life, but play and peace are also just as important. Work is a part of life, not the whole thing. Without a little time to be silly, what is all that hard work for?

aquarius: 5 of wands and day lily (splendor)

The 5 of Wands is known as a card of ego, competition, and conflict. When you are truly expressing yourself, in this case, swinging around your Wand, you are bound to burn and get burnt. However, Aquarians, getting a little singed is worth the effort.

In the 5 of Wands, we see 5 figures, all dressed in different colors and patterns to symbolize their individuality, holding and using their Wand to their advantage. And again, when you have a bunch of different people, with different ideals and motives, disagreements are bound to happen. But not the kind of life or death conflict, but just the natural occurrence of differing opinions. Note, though, how all the figures are standing 10 toes on ground. Feet firmly planted as they wield their Wand. Because you are being invited to stand tall in your contrarianism, Aquarians.

Something else to note about the conflict in this card, which differs from the conflict in the 7 of Wands, is that everyone in the 5 of Wands is on the same playing field. No one is above or below the other. As you approach conflicting opinions, Aquarians, ask yourself if you are fighting from the same plane of existence. Meaning, outside of the conflict, could you still come together in this space peacefully? Can you agree to disagree? If not, then, consider this: Not every environment requires your ego or perspective. Not every conflict is yours to participate in. Life is not about “being right,” but it is about getting in the ring of life and standing up for yourself.

Your Plant Magic Oracle! is Daylily is the message of splendor. The guidebook says, “It’s your time to shine bright as you were made to. No more hiding that magic away!” Shining bright, Aquarians, often means opening yourself up for competition, intentionally or not. But don’t shy away from the challenge of being alive. Just like everyone else is allowed to shine bright, bump shoulders, and stand up for themselves, so are you.

pisces: 3 of wands and aloe vera (healing)

Pisces, did you know your 2H, the House of value and security, is in Aries? If you did know this, how often do you give yourself credit for all the shite you know how to do without really knowing how to do it?

The reason I bring up Aries is because the 3 of Wands is astrologically associated with Sun in Aries. This is card of possibilities, shown by the figure looking out over the cliff, over the horizon, seeing the ships come in. The 3 of Wands is also a card of entrepreneurship and accomplishment, recognizing that life doesn’t necessarily wait for you, that you have to go outside your comfort zone to welcome those chances to make your dreams come true. So Pisces, keeping all of this in mind, this month is encouragement for you to take life by the reins and build the plane as you fly it (kind of like Aries people!).

Notice, we’re looking at the 3 of Wands‘ figure’s back; we don’t know if they’re smiling, nervous, or even frustrated at the path they now have to take. But this card reminds me of The Fool, you’re looking over the cliff’s edge and you’re taking a leap of faith. Maybe that will resonate deeper with you Pisceans, whose underlying raison d’être is faith. Faith in yourself, faith in your cause, faith in the universe to catch you if you fall. Through all of your travels, literally, metaphysically, emotionally, you continue to learn to stand on your own two feet. You continue to regenerate, you continue to grow and heal.

Your Plant Magic! Oracle is Aloe Vera whose message is healing. The guidebook says, “Embrace healing as a means to become whole again.” I like this for Pisceans, especially since you all are typically doing the healing, not being healed. Going out of your comfort zone by being healed is healing. Seeing the world as your oyster, full of opportunities for play, rather than focusing on all the “good you must do” is freeing. When you are truly free, you are able to regenerate, recuperate, and become more whole again. So Pisceans, let yourself be free.

aries: ace of pentacles and lavender (resolution)

All ones in tarot speak to the start of something new. You are the first zodiac sign, Aries. You were the first energy to invest in the tangible world, like the scene shown in the Ace of Pentacles.

The Ace of Pentacles speaks to charm in the everyday. The magic in a solid, tangible reality. This opportunity to start fresh is a gift, Aries. What seeds will you plant on this new foundation? The Ace speaks to the slow, deliberate process of growing, which is a bit antithetical to your zodiac’s signature, but there’s a lesson to be learned here. The road to becoming is long and hard, so an all or nothing approach is not the vibe here. Note the mountains in the distance, symbolizing that life is challenging sometimes, but if you have a solid foundation, like in the Ace of Pentacles, the mountains become easier to climb.

September feels fertile, Aries. Anything could happen this month. There’s an open sky, no clouds, just a gift from the heavens, ready for you, if you’ll receive it. Not to rush you, even though I know you all work well under pressure, but there is no time like the present. Speaking of present, the Pentacles suit is about being present, aware in your body. As you are walking this new path, leaving your metaphysical garden and moving out into the world, how do you feel in your physical form?

Your Plant Magic! Oracle is Lavender whose message is resolution. The guidebook says, “take an opportunity to decompress and find a moment of peace during your day to day.” Aries, as you are going out in the world, asserting yourself and trying new things, don’t forget that you can always go back into your garden. This goes back to that all or nothing thinking I mentioned earlier. You can always come home to rest, and that rest can be in your body. You have all the home within you, all the fertile seeds, so go ahead and grow.

taurus: 7 of cups and monstera (respect)

The 7 of Cups can be confusing, disorienting. In the original art, we don’t even see a person in this card, just their shadow in the light of all of their greatest wishes. Taureans, let’s talk about your dreams and your shadows.

As a Venusian, it’s in your zodiac’s signature to have your cake and eat it too, so to speak. Or, want to have your cake and eat it, too. But the 7 of Cups speaks to when all this wanting, all these ideas and dreams, have overshadowed the reality of things. Taureans, you are bigger than your desires. And not every desire you desire desires you back, you feel me?

Rachel Pollack, in Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom, writes, “It is a mistake to think that daydreams are meaningless because of their content; on the contrary they often spring from deep archetypal needs and images.” So as you continue to want and desire, Taureans, take a minute to consider where this feeling comes from. That’s something to remember with the Cups suit, especially the 7 of Cups: these daydreams are feelings, fleeting; not concrete or tangible. So sit in the deeper need that’s not being met and work with it a bit. What do you really need right now? What will your future really need from you?

Your Plant Magic! Oracle is Monstera whose message is respect. The guidebook says, “Give respect and expect it in return.” Taureans, although your dreams may still be in the ether, respect their presence in your mind and your heart. Your dreams and wishes are deeper signals to what you really want, so acknowledge and respect them. And also recognize what dreams also respect you and your present reality. Not every dream is meant to come to fruition, but that doesn’t make them frivolous to begin with.

gemini: king of swords and money plant (wealth)

The King of Swords is a tough cookie, like most Geminis I know. Being able to see your world, the world, clearly is a gift, one that is meant to bring you closer to others, not push you farther away.

Let me explain. The King of Swords is clear-headed, focused on equality and truth. The King is seated with their Sword slightly pointed to the right, oriented towards action and justice. Justice for all, regardless of their perspective, not just the comfortable perspectives. The King of Swords knows the truth is uncomfortable, it can cut like a Sword; however, the King also knows, that cuts heal and that Swords can break ties that bind – the discomfort is worth the effort. Speaking of discomfort, notice the King’s throne made entirely of stone. Solid, dependable, and forces the King to remain alert. This is your strength, Gemini.

Now, back to my earlier point about pushing people away. Also notice the King is alone on their throne. In this scene, specifically. They are on higher ground, aware of the clouds in their environment (symbolizing not having all the answers or seeing the entire truth). In seeing more than the average bear, Geminis, it may feel a bit isolating. It may feel like you’re the only one who can see the issues at hand. Don’t be discouraged by this, my friends. Show other people what you’re seeing. The King is a leader, not a follower. If there’s an issue you’re seeing unaddressed, the King of Swords asks you to step up and speak truth to power. Your perspective is yours and to force others to see it, isn’t how you lead. Remember, your actions speak louder than words.

Your Plant Magic! Oracle is Money Plant whose message is wealth. The guidebook says, “Look for ways to welcome wealth and abundance in your life and others.” Gemini, by inviting others into your kingdom, by leading from your higher perspective, you share your intellectual wealth with others. Your community is able to be inspired by you and learn from you. Yes, it can be a bit lonely to be King, but what an honor and privilege it is, too.

cancer: page of cups and orchid (maturity)

This month’s Page of Cups is ironic. I’m going to use that word again later, so bear with me. Pop astrology doesn’t always consider how aloof Cancerians can be. Even in the midst of all your nurturing, you all tend to be a little hands off.

The Page of Cups is anything but hands off. They take center stage, put on their best outfit, and approach the seemingly magical fish in their cup with pure curiosity and childlike spirit. Cancerians, when is the last time you played? Did something new without having to be good at it right away, walked around in your own imagination, and became more sensitive and aware because of it? I think, because your sign tends to take care of others, nurtures the collective so to speak, you lose some awareness. Or rather, your awareness is oriented towards other people. The Page of Cups wants you to be the baby for a second.

The Page is a call to open your heart, Cancers. Your hard shell, your sometimes distant nature, does keep you safe, this is true. But this shell, these boundaries, can easily become unclimbable walls, if you let them. Notice there are no boundaries in this card. The Page can easily jump into the water, his outfit pushes the boundaries of fashion (lol), the fish is jumping out of the cup, there is a clear, open sky in the background. Your craft, your art, will reveal what is truly in your heart and from there, you can continue to nurture these ideals just as much as you nurture others.

Your Plant Magic! Oracle is Orchid with a message of maturity. Maturity is not all or nothing, it is a balance. It is self-care and community care; knowing there’s a time to be silly and a time to be serious. It is handling the real shite of life and still finding time to escape from it for a bit. You can and should do both, Cancerians. The world is your canvas, so what will you paint?

A note, Cancerians, your sister sign, Capricorn, also got the Page of Cups, so I would read their tarotscope too. xx

Leo: the fool and borage (power)

Leos, take stock of your life right now. Are you happy with what you see? Does what you see make sense in the bigger picture of your life’s landscape? Or is it time to try something different?

The Fool is a chaotic neutral, leaning towards chaotic good archetype. When you realize the status quo is a load of barnacles and have to exit the scene. Now that you’re free, take a deep breath. The Fool is ruled by Air for a reason; because before any leap of faith, you should always be clear headed and in your body. Especially because the road to figuring out who you really are is long and difficult, symbolized by the mountain range in the background and the uneven cliff’s edge in the foreground of the card.

So back to taking a breath, in this breath, close your eyes and imagine yourself as The Fool, looking at the bigger picture of you and your journey. Make a plan, even a skeleton of a plan. As long as you are intentional, honest, and patient; a baby plan is better than nothing. Babies grow. You grow. So grow. In this growing, however, don’t forget about your past lives, you can carry them all in your little bindle. You can return to them when the road ahead gets rough, remind yourself why you needed to make a change in the first place. The road ahead may feel lonely, but you are never alone, Leo. You have the sun and you have yourself.

Your Plant Magic! Oracle is Borage with the message of power. Borage, in ancient times, was known as the “herb of courage.” The guidebook says, “Borage represents power in its purest form for positive impact.” It takes a lot of courage to recognize when something is misaligned or when a chapter has ended in your life and do something about it. Call upon the sun for strength, Leos, let it warm your skin and your spirit as you embark on this new journey of being.
