Practicing the art of being human,
This month’s New Moon tarotscopes feature The Erotic Tarot by Sofie Birkin. This deck is 18+ and a pretty NSFW, in case that bothers you. If it does, ignore the pictures and just read your message, lol. You can also refer to your personal deck (if you have one!) or the original RWS cards online for reference.
Also a note: the second card in each tarotscope is the pull’s bottom energy. In my tarot practice, I use the bottom (final) card as supporting energy, since it’s the other card who’s face up and present for us. Each tarotscope’s supporting energy for this Virgo New Moon is a Major Arcana. While the primary energy is Minor Arcana, grounded in the mundane, this… mundanity, humility, is supporting your big picture, grander themes of personal development. This humility is also very Virgo: the sign of daily routines, managing one’s internal hardwiring, the art of being human.

Alright, let’s get into it. From the graphic below, choose a symbol and get a tarotscope for this Virgo New Moon:

Group 1, Butterfly: 10 of Feathers (Swords) and The Sun

Sometimes, your biggest enemy is your own mind. This New Moon, how can you free yourself from the prison of your anxious, unproductive thoughts? Consider if you are adding to your own misery then do something about it.
The 10 of Feathers (aka Swords) is an ending, an opportunity to close out unsupportive belief patterns and self-doubt. This card represents when our Swords, the ways we think, approach life, and communicate, have caught up with us and it no longer makes sense to keep going the way you’ve been going. But don’t fret, sometimes, hitting rock bottom is actually a springboard. The sun always rises.
Speaking of the sun, in the RWS art, there is a golden horizon in the distance. Your accompanying energy for this New Moon is The Sun. This is a reminder that even though you have to leave some thought processes and behaviors in the past, brighter days are ahead. During this transition, you need to embrace taking back your personal power. Operating from a place of joy, enlightenment, and good intentions will support you in adopting better mental health habits.
Group 2, Autumn Leaf: Ace of Candles (Wands) and The Star

The Ace of Candles (aka Wands, in this deck) can represent a rekindling of passions. This New Moon you are being encouraged to go back to the drawing board. Baby, what lights your fire?
This card asks you to say something, do something, be anything! Fire, as an element, is creative and passionate and must be directed, controlled, and made useful. This Virgo New Moon is asking you to channel your fire into positive energy that benefits, warms everyone. The Ace of Candles invites you to say Yes! because being alive is worth the effort. Now isn’t a time to overexert yourself, however, because if you burn too bright, too quickly, you will burn out. Sustain this flame through a steady dedication to the self.
With The Star as your accompanying energy, this New Moon is asking you to have faith in your creative vision. Engaging in creative pursuits is healing, you can choose to be healed by your creativity, as well. It can also be soothing to share these new ideas with your external world, your found family. The Star comes immediately after The Tower, reminding us that the worst is over, in regards to your personal development. Believe in yourself, your cause, and your future.
Group 3, Horse: Knight of Roses (Pentacles) and Death

The Knight of Roses (aka Pentacles) arrives to ask, “Where could you use a little more patience and structure?” This Virgo New Moon is here to get you to slow down and see the bigger picture.
The Knight of Pentacles knows how to run like clockwork; they’re dependable and focused on getting from Point A to Point B. The Knight wants to know if you’re really dedicated to the process of Being. Not just the fun and sexy parts of being alive, but the slow, tedious, patience-testing parts of being alive. The road to Becoming is nonlinear, but by planting the right seeds, making reasonable investments, you will reap what you sow.
With Death as your accompanying energy, it’s time to adopt a less invested, more impulsive approach to life. This change has been a long time coming, a slow deterioration of who you used to be, but is necessary to really understand your values. In the RWS art, both figures are arriving on a paused horse, indicating movement towards your personal freedom and inner wisdom. It’s a new day, a new ego death, and therefore, a new ego expression. You can be dedicated to the long haul of living, you are building stamina for life.
Group 4, Praying Mantis: 9 of Candles (Wands) and The Lovers

The 9 of Candles can represent sustaining your creative energy despite hardship. It may feel harder to play or pursue creative endeavors considering the world’s current vibe, but you are building self-reliance. Your scars, your wounds don’t disqualify you from play, they are proof of your expertise.
The 9 of Candles, despite its friction and uncomfortable definitions, means you’re getting closer to completing your goal. This card is a reminder that you’ve survived your past, which means you can survive your future. Follow through with what you started, giving up now won’t teach you anything. This opportunity to keep going is a choice. It may feel unnerving, but this discomfort, this choice, can be used to your advantage.
With The Lovers as your accompanying card, the theme of choices or options is emphasized. It’s a choice to embrace difference, diversity, and to reach personal fulfillment. This card, along with the 9 of Candles, can represent finding allies where you least expect it. Remember, harmony is created by differences, not similarities.
